Ingredients
- 1 1b Ahi Tuna Steaks
- 1 bag of spring mix salad
- 1 carrot shredded or julienned
- 1/8 of Red Onion, Sliced in Halves
- 1/2 cup cooked shelled Edamame
- 1 Small Citrus Fruit (Mandarin Orange, Clementine)
- 2 TBS sesame seeds
- 4 TBS of Sesame Oil
- 1 TBS of Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger
Directions For Searing Tuna
- Pour a bunch sesame seeds in a plate and press the tuna steaks in the seeds on both sides.
- Pour the 1 TBS sesame oil in a cast iron and turn heat on high.
- Wait till the sesame oil heats up, HOT, and place the tuna steak in the pan.
- Lower heat to medium and then cook for 2 minutes a side.
- Take the tuna off, let it cool to the touch and slice about 1/8 of inch thick. Set aside.
Asian Dressing Directions
- Whisk together 3 TB sesame oil, soy sauce and ginger until well blended.
Directions For Mixing the Salad
- Place a layer of mixed greens on each plate and add carrots, thinly sliced onion, edamame and citrus toppings.
- Top the salad with the cooked tuna, sprinkle with any remaining sesame seeds and drizzle with dressing.
