Ahi Tuna Salad with Asian Dressing

Ingredients

Directions For Searing Tuna

  1. Pour a bunch sesame seeds in a plate and press the tuna steaks in the seeds on both sides.
  2. Pour the 1 TBS sesame oil in a cast iron and turn heat on high.
  3. Wait till the sesame oil heats up, HOT, and place the tuna steak in the pan.
  4. Lower heat to medium and then cook for 2 minutes a side.
  5. Take the tuna off, let it cool to the touch and slice about 1/8 of inch thick. Set aside.

Asian Dressing Directions

  1. Whisk together 3 TB sesame oil, soy sauce and ginger until well blended.

Directions For Mixing the Salad

  1. Place a layer of mixed greens on each plate and add carrots, thinly sliced onion, edamame and citrus toppings.
  2. Top the salad with the cooked tuna, sprinkle with any remaining sesame seeds and drizzle with dressing.
